A little more about me

Vanessa Chica Ferreira is a Dominican New York City poet, educator, playwright, fat activist, and writing workshop facilitator. Her work moves through grief, memory, body, motherhood, fat liberation, joy, reclamation, and becoming.

She co-created Live Big Girl and Live Big Girl: A Chair That Fits, poetic performance works centered on body liberation and taking up space. Her writing has appeared in journals and anthologies including Snapdragon: A Journal of Art and Healing, The Acentos Review, Great Weather for Media, and more.
